Facts about the library
- All library materials check out for 28 days. The library does not charge overdue fines but you may make a donation in the library if you feel so compelled.
- So far this year, 1,021 people have used the computers in the library.
- We have been open 80 days this year, so about 13 people per day multiplied by 207 (total # days the library is open per year) which equals 2,691 people who use the computers per year, more or less.
In 2006:
- 6,912 visits to the library (county population according to the 2000 census was 2,196. A little more than 3 times the county population equals the total visits to the library in one year)
- 2,013 Adult print materials were checked out
- 2,461 Children and YA print materials were checked out
- 1,369 Non-Print materials were checked out (Audio Books and Videos)
- Roughly, about 1/2 of the library's collection circulated in 2006
- 1,208 Reference Questions were asked (and hopefully answered :-) )
- Our large print collection has more than a 100% turnover rate. Meaning, every book in the Large Print collection is checked out at least once every year.
