Minutes for the June Chamber Meeting PDF Print E-mail

The Philip Chamber of Commerce met June 8, 2009, at 7:00 pm at The Steakhouse in Philip.

Three officers and ten members were in attendance.  There was no Treasurer's Report as Matt Reedy, Chamber treasurer, was out of town.  The Secretary's Report was read by Codi Valery, Chamber Secretary.  Joe Gittings asked that one paragraph by revised from the May minutes in regards to the Centennial funds.  The new paragraph reads:  Mike West motioned that the Centennial Fund be used for special events with profit income from those events funneling back into the account.  Corky Thorson seconded the motion.  Once revised, the Secretary's Report was approved as read.

Milo Zeeb gave a reminder that the Relay For Life was coming this weekend, June 12th.  All downtown businesses were asked to show their support of the event by decorating their store fronts in purple.

Glen Parsons gave out some of the promotional posters that are circulating through town for the upcoming Festival Days.  He said the plans for Festival Days were done and all that was needed was manpower.  Anyone wishing to help with the dance or the Children's games on Saturday is encouraged to volunteer.

Doug West played the radio spots that will soon be aired on KBHB for the Match Bronc Ride and the Dustin Evans concert.

Del Bartels updated the Chamber and said the Crooners singing group, which had been looking for a place to practice and store their equipment, have found a home at Kennedy Implement.

The meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting is on July 13, 2009, at 7:00pm at the 73 Saloon.  All are encouraged to attend.
