General Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order

16 Members were present

Kent Olson called the meeting to order.

First on the Agenda, Kent made the announcement of Philip being selected to be Capital for a day on August 28, 2008. He passed out the current agenda for the event. Made a call for all local participation. This is a great honor for Philip and hopefully there will be a good attendance.

Since Christine Andrus did not attend the meeting there was no report of the Farmers Market. It was noted however, that those that had been in attendance were impressed with the turnout that has been noted.

Kent reported that the Philip Festival day's revues were not very favorable. Attendance was down as there was not much for the young children to participate it. It will be expanded to cover more ages for the year 2009.

The next Chamber Meeting will be September 8, 2008, 7:00 PM @ the73 Bar.

Kent turned the meeting over to Igor Prokofyev

Egor is here to give a Russian prospective on the Cold War and he is doing a great job at presenting ideas from the other side of the world. He has been giving tours to visitors as well as taking part in the in the open house tours. He is also working on several projects for the future visitor center's exhibits. Egor has developed his own program that her present to the visitors. He is a journalism major back in Russia. It was an interesting insight into the other side of the coin.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
