The Haakon County Veterans Service Office helps veterans and their dependents apply for benefits from the State and Federal Departments of Veterans Affairs. The County Veterans Services Officer personally meets with the veteran to determine their elgibility for benefits and then helps the veteran submit the necessary applications. Depending on current guidelines, veterans and their dependents may be eligible to receive disability compensation benefits, non-service connected veterans pensions, widows pensions, VA health care coverage to include prescription drugs, education benefits, veterans bonuses, and burial benefits.
